Microsoft Windows 8 to Include 3D Interface?

Microsoft might prefer to keep the public's attention on its Windows 7 operating system ahead of the holiday season, but like day follows night, tech enthusiasts have been on the hunt for signs of what's to come in the next version of the operating system.

The latest batch of rumors comes courtesy of an Italian website that has published details of the anticipated 3D interface, codenamed "Wind," that could come with Windows 8. Reportedly, the initial version of the 3D feature will only be available for high-end, 64-bit systems with roughly 170 MB of video memory. Datamation takes a look.


Microsoft isn't talking, but an Italian tech enthusiast site claims to have the skinny on more rumored new or upgraded features coming in Windows 8.

On the list is a 3D user interface, codenamed Wind and designed for higher-end systems initially, that will automatically adapt to the user's actions.
