Listen.com Adds Videos, Broadens Partnerships

Listen.com is expanding its offerings to include music videos and reviews to its directory of downloadable music of more than 60,000 artists. The company said Tuesday that it has signed deals with eleven international music Web sites to facilitate the expansion.

Listen.com has entered into deals with LAUNCH.com, RollingStone.com and Vidnet.com to expedite the inclusion of thousands of their videos into Listen.com’s guide. These partners will update Listen.com’s editors with the new video offerings that are planned on their sites.

“Many music fans may be pleasantly surprised to learn that their favorite artists have videos on the Web,” said Rob Reid, Listen.com’s founder and CEO. “Now they can go to Listen.com to find and discover both great downloadable music and thousands of videos by some of the biggest name artists in music.”

Listen.com has also recently added international artists to its guide by establishing deals with: AsiaMix.com (based in China, covering Asia), BeSonic.com (based in Germany, covering the U.K. and Europe), iCrunch Ltd (based in England, covering the U.K. and Europe), Ertimo (based in the U.S., covering Latin music) Ministry of Sound (based in England, covering the U.K. and Europe), NetBeat.com (based in Belgium, covering Europe), peoplesound (based in England, covering the U.K. and Europe), Popwire.com (based in Sweden, covering Europe), remotemusic (based in England, covering the U.K. and Europe), Ritmoteca.com (based in the U.S., covering Latin music), and Vitaminic (based in Italy, covering Europe).

These companies will work with Listen.com to facilitate reviews by Listen.com editors of the artists that have music on their sites, as well as inclusion of the artists in Listen.com’s directory. The deals also open the door to cross-promotional opportunities between Listen.com and the international sites.
