StorageTek Announces New Core Fabric Switch

StorageTek today furthered its commitment to providing reliable and interoperable solutions for Storage Area Networks (SANs) by announcing the upcoming availability of the Brocade SilkWorm(R) 12000 Core Fabric Switch. According to StorageTek, the SilkWorm 12000, when used in conjunction with StorageTek's storage solutions, allows companies to cost-effectively utilize storage management by improving storage allocation, increasing operational efficiency and assuring continuous data availability.
The Brocade SilkWorm 12000 is the industry's first 2 Gigabit per Second (Gbit/sec), modular, multi-protocol core fabric switch designed to support the unique demands of enterprise storage applications and services. Available in 32-port, 64-port and 128-port configurations and based on the Brocade Advanced Fabric Services Architecture, the SilkWorm 12000 provides the advanced fabric services required to support enterprise storage environments.
