FalconStor Inc. and Storage Access Technologies Inc. this week announced that Storage Access has adopted FalconStor's network storage infrastructure software, IPStor, to enhance its offerings to the SSP marketplace.
Storage Access said the result is in an optimized SSP solution using an IP-based SAN. In addition, the company will use IPStor to deliver integrated SAN and NAS services over IP from its global network of Storage Network Access Points (SNAPs).
"Storage Access is dedicated to providing a full suite of storage services delivered via Fibre Channel and IP," said Paul Sachse, CTO of Storage Access. "FalconStor's IPStor allows us to provide both NAS and SAN-based services from a single platform to customers in and out of the data center."
"By implementing cutting-edge technologies like IPStor, Storage Access is able to deliver IP-based SAN and NAS while drastically lowering costs," said Wendy Petty, FalconStor vice president of sales. "Leveraging IP connectivity and employing storage virtualization are two key strategies that help Storage Access contain operating costs without compromising quality of service, resulting in a significantly lower total cost of ownership for their customers. We're pleased to play a vital role in the delivery of these services to Storage Access partners and end users."
