Speedera Networks has announced a $7.5 million contract with e-learning developer Vidyah, along with the availability of Speedera Streaming.

Speedera Streaming is the streaming media service component of the Speedera Universal Delivery Network (UDN). The UDN worldwide network of streaming servers uses Speedera's global traffic management technology to provide a scalable media delivery service that pushes content to strategically located servers close to users, for better quality media content delivery.

"Performance is key to successful streaming media," said Greg Howard, principal analyst of the HTRC Group, LLC. "Speedera has integrated global traffic management and a common user interface across all services-streaming, load balancing, content delivery and failover-to provide superior performance and an easy-to-use service.

"Their Universal Delivery Network was built from the ground up to scale to meet the needs of the most popular sites on the Internet. In addition, Speedera's unique partner-oriented business model provides customers with added flexibility in obtaining a full-service streaming solution."

"Speedera Streaming accelerates the adoption of streaming media into mainstream business applications," said Steve Lerner, vice president of streaming media technology for Speedera. "Our Streaming service provides platforms for building exciting, new applications that enable innovative business uses and allow companies to quickly scale current networks and web sites to meet increasing demand."
