iBEAM Broadcasting Corp. Tuesday partnered with EyeWonder Inc. to distribute and host EyeWonder's content and advertising. This content will utilize EyeWonder's instant streaming technology, the EYERIS codec (coder/decoder) which iBEAM will also license.

"Advertising represents a significant source of revenue for our streaming customers," says Peter Desnoes, chairman, president and CEO of iBEAM. "Streaming banners present a larger revenue opportunity than static banners and complement the streaming ad-insertion capabilities we currently offer our customers through our industry leading On-Target Advertising Platform. Once again, iBEAM is illustrating that streaming advertising is a viable source of revenue."

EYERIS enables the instant delivery of streaming video and audio within online banner ads. The thin decoder (30K) allows streaming content to begin playing immediately upon the page load. It requires no dedicated player or user-initiation to deliver video within a banner ad.

"iBEAM's hosting and distribution platform combined with EyeWonder's instant streaming technology allows marketers the opportunity to deliver their online ad campaigns with the most impact and effectiveness," said John Vincent, CEO of EyeWonder, Inc. "In working with iBEAM, we enhance our customers' ability to generate revenue and provide them with the stability and quality of iBEAM's global streaming distribution network.
