Digital Island, Navisite in Streaming Pact

The first example of this partnership in action was the streaming of Madonna's performance from London's Brixton Academy, which drew an Internet audience with total viewers estimated to be 9 million.

Digital Island, Inc. will be responsible for streaming content for NaviSite, Inc. as part of NaviSite's recently announced streamOS streaming services initiative. Digital Island's Footprint streaming services will be used with the streamOS platform, allowing customers to manage and deliver streaming content over the Internet.

The first example of this partnership in action was the streaming of Madonna's November 28th performance from London's Brixton Academy, which drew an Internet audience with total viewers estimated to be 9 million. More than 3.6 Terabytes of data were transferred through Footprint and streamOS, along with other distribution partners, using nearly 2.7 Gigabits of bandwidth, making the event one of the largest ever of its kind.
