Sandpiper's Footprint Content Delivery Network (CDN) speeds delivery of rich media up to 10 times by distributing content from a worldwide network of servers, putting Web content closer to the consumer and shortening the delivery path, the firm said.
RadicalMail streams audio, graphics and video directly into the body of an e-mail without requiring a plug-in or attaching an executable file, or by launching a Web browser. Instead, a Java applet is embedded into the e-mail so the audio or video message can stream immediately upon opening. In addition, RadicalMail offers its clients real-time tracking capabilities, letting them know when the audience received the stream, if they forwarded the message and if they made a purchase.
By integrating Sandpiper's CDN as part of its delivery method, RadicalMail said it will deliver targeted multimedia content faster and more efficiently. Sandpiper will also refer their clients to adopt RadicalMail's technology in their rich media e-mail campaigns.
"Sandpiper's content delivery network provides the necessary infrastructure to quickly and reliably deliver RadicalMail's streaming capabilities, maximizing its customers online marketing efforts," said Leo Spiegel, president and CEO of Sandpiper Networks. "Sandpiper is committed to providing RadicalMail's customers with the richest media experience available on the Internet."
"Reliability is the most important quality of any Internet company, whether
it's on the Web or in e-mail," said Robert Strack, RadicalMail's president
and founder. "Sandpiper's Footprint service gives us and our clients the
confidence and assurance that our multimedia content will be quickly and
efficiently delivered when campaigns are deployed and e-mails are opened."
