EXcelon is an XML-based application development environment for building and deploying e-business applications. It includes a suite of graphical development tools, connectivity tools to leverage legacy systems, and a data server for storing, managing, querying and delivering XML information.
The intent behind the Intraware/Object Design partnership, according to a statement issued by the two companies, is for collaboration to enable them to accelerate and simplify the delivery of XML-based solutions.
Intraware is also including Object Design's eXcelon Stylus, a professional Extensible Style Language (XSL) editing tool, in its XML Starter Kit. The XML Starter Kit is an XML product bundle designed for corporate developers. In addition to the eXcelon Stylus XSL stylesheet, the XML Starter Kit includes a dynamic XML server, an XML editor and XML schema tool, and training in XML. The XML Starter Kit is priced at $1,250.
Pricing for eXcelon ranges from $199 for the eXcelon Stylus XSL editor to $15,000 per CPU for an eXcelon deployment license.
