Handspring in Another Enterprise Push

Continuing a trend by handheld vendors to team with vendors of enterprise infrastructure software, Handspring said Monday that it has entered into a sales and marketing alliance with mobile infrastructure vendor Neomar.
In a statement, the companies said they would work together on joint product testing, training, marketing and sales of Handspring's handhelds and forthcoming Treo handheld/phone communicators.
Neomar is the developer of the Real Mobility framework for adding wireless access to enterprise applications. Its products include Neomar Enterprise Server and Neomar Microbrowser for handheld devices.
With handheld sales less than stellar in the last few quarters, vendors have increasingly been turning to the enterprise. Handhelds based on Microsoft's Pocket PC 2002 platform, particularly Compaq's iPAQ handhelds, have met with significant success in the enterprise and both Handspring and Palm have been trying to follow suit.
