Conroy Moves Up to AOL Broadband

In a move that signals more exclusive programming for America Online's broadband subscribers, the ISP has named Kevin Conroy to a newly-created position as executive vice president and chief operating officer for its Broadband division.

Conroy, who will report to AOL Broadband President Lisa Hook, will shift out of position as a senior vice president in AOL's Entertainment division in order to take on his new executive role as COO of Broadband.

In the new position, Conroy is expected to oversee AOL for Broadband business operations, including managing all aspects of the AOL for Broadband service, the company said.

Conroy has been with AOL since 2001 when he joined the ISP as head of AOL Music. The music division's programming-driven formats and partnerships with recording artists for exclusive concerts and content have helped turn the company's music offerings into one of its most popular features, including its Sessions@AOL program, which features exclusive performances and interviews with recording artists

He has also worked on broadband programming initiatives such as full-length live concerns every Friday, the company said.
