Event411, a leading developer of Web-based planning solutions, has filed a patent application with the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) for proprietary features and functionality incorporated into its flagship product, PremierPlanner.
The application covers architecture of Event411's core meeting-management applications, including unique processes for attendee management, task management and expense tracking.
"We've completed an exhaustive search of both existing patents in our space as well as the eligibility of our software for this highest level of intellectual property protection. We believe we are the first developer in our industry to move from our already copyrighted, registered and trademarked applications to patentable software," said Steven Koltai, Event411 founder, chairman and CEO. "Up until now, the pattern in this industry has been to license core technology or outsource development.
Designed for professional planners of events such as meetings, conferences and seminars, Event411's PremierPlanner includes more than 200 features contained in 11 tools that fall into three main categories: Meeting Management (including budgeting, reporting, vendor tracking, to-do lists, and various attendee management functions); Registration (both with and without payment processing); and Travel (including real-time reservation booking).
