Elipva, living systems Asia To Deliver Intelligent E-biz Apps

SINGAPORE — Elipva has formed a strategic alliance with living systems Asia to bundle and integrate technology to deliver agent-based e-business solutions in the region.

Both companies are advocates of using open standards technology, Java and software agents to build their e-business platforms and solutions. According to company officials, elipva and living systems Asia will conduct joint marketing initiatives, and support each other’s solutions strategy and development, paving the way for future cooperation on a global scale.

elipva’s ePAF (elipva Portal Application Framework) e-business infrastructure and suite of applications enable enterprises to integrate third-party software, while living systems Asia’s collaborative e-commerce living markets product addresses comprehensive commerce transaction processing across platforms.

Said Dennis Lee, co-founder and chief technology officer of elipva, “Today, e-business activities have been limited by unintelligent applications that only function with user commands. As such, e-business activities have been limited by the extent of actual usage by users.

With software agent technology, e-business activities will be like a living system, where software agents interact 24×7 on behalf of users. Both elipva and living systems believe that software agents would truly realise the vision of e-business market places and portals.”

Singapore-headquartered elipva is a joint venture and subsidiary of Singapore Technologies Telemedia. It currently has regional offices in Malaysia, Hong Kong and China. Its customers include: United Overseas Bank, Great Eastern Life, GK Goh, Prudential Assurance, MnE Portal.com and I-systems.

Living systems Asia is the Asian subsidiary of German collaborative commerce solutions provider living systems AG, which also has subsidiaries in Brazil, Canada, Romania, and the U.S. and U.K. To date, the company is powering some 40 online market places and exchanges, which include www.tradenetone.com for freight capacities; www.capclear.com, the London-based virtual clearinghouse; and www.mercadomro.com for maintenance, repair, and operations supplies in Latin America.
