Sphera's World Revolves Around Boston

Sphera Corp., a provider of hosting automation software, has moved its headquarters to Boston from New York to be closer to existing and prospective customers.
"We believe that Boston is the ideal location for Sphera as our sales and marketing efforts to high-end customers expand," said Tamar Naor, Sphera's CEO said. "The Boston market provides an ideal environment for Sphera's North American operations."
The company also named Asher Shiratzky as CTO. He has 20 years of industry experience, most recently as CTO and vice president of technology at Elron TeleSoft. There, he was responsible for the company's pushing into the broadband market and signing a partnership with Nortel. Previously he worked at NCC Ltd.
"Sphera is expanding its offerings in response to the needs of complex, mission-critical Web hosting operations," Naor said. "Asher's understanding of the data center environment will enable Sphera to meet the challenge and ensure that HostingDirector continues to set the standard for the Web hosting industry."
Sphera is privately held and was founded in 1998. The company has additional offices in New York, Washington, D.C. Franfurt and London as well as a development center in Israel.
The company has received financing from Jerusalem Venture Partners, Gemini Israel Fund, Reuters Greenhouse Fund and CSK Venture Capital.
