LinkedIn Snaps Up SaaS Player mSpoke

As content on the social Web continues its exponential growth, it becomes increasingly important to have in place smart tools that help users cut through the clutter and surface the things that are most relevant to them.

In that spirit, LinkedIn has acquired mSpoke, a firm that maintains a cloud-based recommendation engine that figures to drive engagement across the world's leading social networking site for professionals. Datamation takes a look.

LinkedIn, the popular social network geared for professionals, has acquired startup mSpoke, a company that offers a cloud-based recommendation engine designed to make online content more relevant. Financial terms weren't released.

The three services powered by the main mSpoke engine, or "spokes," are mPower, mSense and mTrend.
