Microsoft Brings Certification Program to N.C.

In the spirit of National Education Week, Microsoft has signed up North Carolina as the inaugural state to participate in its certification program for high school students.

Under the Microsoft IT Academy Program, the company offers high school students the opportunity to obtain Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) and Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certificates. Microsoft already boasts 9,000 members of its academy in 100 countries. Datamation takes a look.

Microsoft announced Monday -- the first day of National Education Week -- that the state of North Carolina has signed up for the software giant's certification program for high-school students.

In fact, North Carolina is also the first state in the nation to join the program.
