Oracle Debuts Financial Analytics for SAP

Business Intelligence (BI) is a hot area of development and investment. IBM, Oracle and SAP compete fiercely on BI features designed to get enterprise users the information they need from massive data warehouses of information quickly and efficiently.

The latest move concerns a new release by Oracle that specifically targets SAP users. eCRM Guide reports on what features are included in the new Oracle Financial Analytics for SAP business analytics module and SAP's response. Oracle's BI Applications are pre-built analytic applications for Oracle and third-party applications designed to help customers make proactive, informed and actionable decisions and drive toward optimized performance across the enterprise, the company said. But SAP says it's the market leader for BI analytic applications and a company executive points to research analyst reports that show SAP has more than twice Oracle's share in core finance applications.

Today's news is the latest addition to Oracle's family of BI Applications modules which includes Procurement and Spend, Projects, Supply Chain and Order Management, Human Resources, Sales, Service, Marketing, Loyalty, Price, Contact Center Telephony, and a range of vertical industries.
