The ASP Industry Consortium today announced the appointment of Paul McNabb, senior vice president and CTO of Argus Systems Group Inc., as the director of the Security Subcommittee.

As director, McNabb will be responsible for the identification of security risks within the ASP model, and will work with companies, vendors and providers on measures that will decrease susceptibility of an attack. The position was previously held by Argus’ Master Technologist Pavel Slavin.

“Having the opportunity to work with accomplished ASP professionals will allow me to continue providing important education and research in the area of security within the ASP delivery model,” McNabb said. “I look forward to building the ASPIC’s position in the security community and to strengthening its commitment and dedication to the critical security issues that continually challenge ASP organizations.”

McNabb co-founded Argus Systems Group in 1993. He has participated in defining security issues and economic solutions for architectures ranging from ASP and ISP hosting environments to government and defense information systems. McNabb is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and has over 20 years direct experience in Internet/ARPAnet development and security. McNabb received a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Purdue University in 1984 and holds a Top Secret security clearance issued by the U.S. Department of Defense.

Headquartered in Savoy, Ill., privately held Argus has more than 100 customers with offices worldwide.
