Customer relationship portal provider Aspect Communications Corporation this week announced a $50 million venture fund formation.
Aspect Communications Corporation plans to use the venture funding to target investments in pre-IPO companies, helping the evolution of a new class of ASPs to deliver eBusiness solutions to small- to medium-size companies.
The Aspect venture fund will include cash, technology and consulting expertise to offer the benefits of customer relationship portals that integrate B2C, B2B and C2C transactions with blended multimedia applications, including voice, e-mail and Web in the contact center.
The company will work with a small group of venture capital partners, including Institutional Venture Partners, to identify and evaluate investment opportunities in the future.
Using the new ecology of partners and players due to emerge in the near future to offer hosted services as a basis, Norm Fogelsong, general partner, Institutional Venture Partners, said, “The key for us is to marry technology leaders like Aspect with dotcom innovators that need reliable, packaged eCRM offerings and expertise with high-velocity deployment and maximum scalability.”
