ASPs Unite to Combine Analysis and Interaction

LivePerson’s application allows companies to interact with their customers in real time. WebSideStory’s service let companies know what customers are doing when they visit a particular Web site. Both companies’ products are tools that savvy e-marketers can use to increase sales and customer satisfaction.

Looking to provide one-stop shopping for online customer interaction and Web analytics, the two ASPs today announced an alliance designed to market each other’s services, including WebSideStory’s HitBox Enterprise and HitBox Professional, and LivePerson’s live chat applications, LivePerson Pro and LivePerson Corporate.

WebSideStory’s outsourced services are designed to provide information on visitor behavior patterns and trends, including response to marketing campaigns and customer support initiatives. LivePerson’s services are designed to let businesses interact live with their visitors through chat, monitoring and co-browsing features.

According to the companies, the new packaged offering will provide businesses with a complete view of their Web site activity from analysis of visitor trends to understanding visitors’ needs.

“Our combined services give customer-service organizations the ability to quickly identify the gaps in their online sales and support operations by understanding the navigational paths visitors take, their preferences and their individual needs,” said John Hentrich, president and CEO of WebSideStory. “Using this real-time intelligence, businesses can easily make improvements and monitor the results.”

“We are always working to assist merchants in learning more about their customers,” said Robert LoCascio, CEO of LivePerson. “With this alliance, we expand our services to include Web visitor analysis and marketing campaign tracking, enabling our clients to enhance the customer experience and agent productivity.”

WebSideStory’s claims that more than 125,000 sites worldwide use its HitBox services and that it analyzes more than 30 billion page views for client companies.

LivePerson’s customer base includes American Airlines Credit Union, EarthLink, eBay, Federated Stores, Godiva, QVC, Radian Guaranty and more than 3,000 other businesses, the company says.

ASPnews currently lists WebSideStory as a Top 20 Service Provider.
