Atomz Goes Mac

Atomz today announced at Macworld Expo in San Francisco that its Web-based site content management system (CMS) is now compatible with the Macintosh platform.

Atomz, in fact, describes Atomz Publish as the only Mac-compatible hosted CMS service.

“We take pride in being the first company to offer Macintosh users a hosted, online Web site content management system,” said Seth Brenzel, Atomz’s director of marketing. “The Mac community is prolific in its use of advanced Web tools, and we’re pleased that they can now fully utilize Atomz Publish to bring a host of content — including text, images, video and audio files — to their Web sites, easily and intuitively.”

According to Atomz, the WYSIWYG Rich Text Editing Interface is now a standard option for all Atomz Publish customers. Offered an online service, Atomz Publish is designed to let companies easily create, publish and update content on their Web sites. Atomz reports that because its software is Web-native and designed from the ground up to be delivered as an online service, its products are faster to deploy and less expensive than server-based CMS products. The company claims its total cost of ownership is typically 10 percent to 30 percent that of their competition.

Atomz Publish customers can create and deploy new Web sites content using any of four different methods, according to the company:

• Macintosh WYSIWYG Rich Text Editing Interface, which is designed for content contributors who use Internet Explorer 5.2 and higher on Mac OS X v10.2.
• Windows WYSIWYG Rich Text Editing Interface, which is designed for content contributors who use Internet Explorer on Windows.
• A free-form HTML editing interface, which is designed to let end users insert any
  standard HTML that they wish, including tables, images, text
  or any other page element.
• Text-Only, which is designed to allow the
  Web site designer to control every detail of the formatting
  and style of the inputted text.

Atomz Publish also support images, PDFs, video and audio files, MS Office documents and other Web-standard content.

Atomz is listed by ASPnews as a Top 20 Service Provider.
