CAIS Internet Thursday finalized a series of strategic agreements with the major U.S. Incumbent Local Exchange Carriers that will facilitate a mass deployment of its
broadband services to hotels and apartment buildings nationwide.

Agreements forged with Bell Atlantic
Corp.
(BEL), BellSouth Corp., (BLS), GTE Service Corp. (GTE), SBC Communications Inc. (SBC),
and US West Inc. (USW)launched the CAIS (CAIS) Nationwide Provisioning Alliance.

The alliance, which affects service delivery to more 1.3 million guest
rooms and apartment homes nationwide, will help CAIS meet its goal to
massively deploy public kiosks and multi-user networking solutions in the U.S.

Ulysses G. Auger, II, CAIS chief executive officer, said the formation of
the alliance is essential to its ability to scale its broadband business.

“We are rolling out broadband connectivity to buildings on an unprecedented
nationwide scale, and we need alliances that have the resources to be able
to make and deliver on significant commitments,” Auger said.

The alliance streamlines CAIS ability to provision local loops and circuits
managed by the regional telecommunications companies. The deal is also a
bandwidth boom for current CAIS hotels and multifamily communities that
contract for its broadband Internet access solutions.

CAIS Internet has master agreements with several major hotel chains, including Hilton
Hotels, Carlson Worldwide Properties and Radisson Inns. The broadband
solutions provider also has contracts with apartment community real estate
corporations such as United Dominion, One Point Communications, and Tarragon
Realty.
