Lexington, Mass.-based enterprise collaboration software provider Centra Software Inc.on Monday shipped the Centra 7 real-time collaboration solution.

“Centra 7 represents the first definitive step made by a vendor beyond developing real-time collaboration ‘tools’ to becoming a full enterprise-class application solution,” said Leon Navickas, chairman and CEO of Centra. “The reality of today’s economic environment has forced organizations to find ways to cut costs, accelerate business processes, and improve employee productivity with fewer resources. Centra 7 is the answer for an increasing number of customers who have begun to standardize on Centra as a single-vendor solution for enterprise collaboration.”

Deployed as both an on-site and ASP solution, Centra 7 enhancements include advanced integration with the user desktop, solutions that address an entire business process — before, during, and after the live collaboration session, and advanced systems architecture to support global enterprise deployments.

Centra’s ASP and hosted customers will be migrated to Centra 7 over the next few months, with availability for new accounts beginning in July. Centra 7 ships after a successful three-month, in-depth beta program, which included more than 40 unique customers comprised of both on-premises and ASP implementations.

Components of the Centra 7 application and add-on modules can be licensed separately or together as a complete enterprise collaboration environment that can be installed on-site or accessed through Centra’s secure ASP. Pricing starts at $80 (U.S.) per month per concurrent seat for a self-service meeting ASP subscription with an annual commitment. For on-premises installations, customers pay a single fee for flexible access to all Centra 7 real-time experiences starting under $50,000 for up to 50 named seats.
