Centra, SiteScape Announce OEM Deal

Centra , a Lexington, Mass.-based ASP that offers a real-time communication and collaboration services, today announced that it has entered into a strategic agreement with SiteScape, a Wilmington, N.C.-based provider of Web-based collaboration software and services.

Under terms of the agreement, SiteScape will integrate Centra’a technology into its portfolio of collaboration products and will sell the combined solution under the name Forum eMeeting.

According to the companies, SiteScape’s integrated real-time collaboration service will allow users to host live online meetings from within their enterprise collaboration environment while capturing all meeting content and live interactions for later viewing.

“Centra’s product functionality combined with their API Toolkit provides us with a full-featured, behind-the-firewall solution that was rapidly and easily integrated into our family of products,” said Richard M. Tahan, Jr., vice president, worldwide channel marketing for SiteScape, “The addition of real-time features within SiteScape Enterprise Forum further enhances SiteScape’s ability to offer a flexible, scalable and proven collaboration platform that cost-effectively meets the needs of global enterprises.”

Centra’s enterprise application is designed to provide secure and scalable collaboration solutions for sales, marketing, human resources, information technology and other departments across the enterprise that need to take advantage of more efficient and cost-effective business communication over the Web.

“Our goal is to help enterprises optimize IT investments and increase employee productivity by providing innovative ways to address the complex issues that surround team collaboration,” said Alan May, vice president of strategic alliances and channels for Centra. “Our relationship with SiteScape is an important step towards this goal — enabling the `live’ interpersonal collaboration experience on top of SiteScape’s extensive document and discussion thread management capabilities.”

CentraOne is an e-learning platform designed to combine voice, video, data and graphics for Web conferencing, e-meetings and virtual classroom applications. Centra’s products can be deployed onsite or delivered using the ASP model and is available in 13 language editions and in 29 countries.
