Chordiant Perks Up Its CRM Tool

Chordiant Software , which makes customer relationship management (CRM) software, Tuesday updated its application to version 5.0.

The new version meshes together the company’s standards-based open JX Architecture (J2EE + XML) making it easy to work with and install what Chordiant calls a “dynamically driven” CRM.

“What we mean by ‘dynamically driven CRM’ is the ability to adapt consistently to individual customer requirements in real time,” says Chordiant president and CEO Stephen Kelly. “No other company offers this adaptive, process-centric capability, and this is important because more than half of all static CRM projects fail. In a challenged economy, our customers are asking for fast implementation, rapid ROI, a way to control costs and build customer loyalty. Chordiant 5 delivers all this and more.”

Engineers at the Cupertino, Calif.-based company worked some 18 months on the project.

Chordiant 5 includes marketing applications (Marketing Director Suite and Marketing Optimizer), selling and servicing applications (Advisor and Call Center Advisor) and the enterprise platform (Collaboration Server, Foundation Server, Interaction Server, Knowledge Server, Rules Server).

Each one is designed to provide guided interactions, manage end-to-end processes and data entry validation, which the company says limits downstream re-work.

The individual applications are sold on seat basis with the whole platform sold on CPU-based model.

Kelly says to get Chrodiant 5 up and running took support from Sun Microsystems IBM and BEA Systems, Inc. . The company says more partnerships should be announced in February.
