Web application hosting service Digex, Inc. is introducing its server-based security service, Digex TruDefense Intrusion Detection. TruDefense proactively monitors client servers, looking for signs of attack. It can detect or stop known hacking exploits as well as classes of generic attacks, alerting the Digex Network Operations Center to suspicious activity.
This latest Digex Systems Security service includes initial consultation, a tuning period, 24×7 monitoring and event escalation procedures, incident reports, and monthly summary reports. TruDefense is available in both a standard version that provides operating system and selected application-level protection services, as well as a Web server edition that combines http parsing protection and application shielding to prevent Microsoft IIS Web server files from being modified or destroyed.
Digex’s range of managed security offerings includes managed firewalls, firewall-based virtual private networks, Security Scanning and Vulnerability Assessments, Smart Update and digital certificates. All of the Laurel, Md.-based Digex security offerings are supported by Digex Systems Security Operation, a group of certified security professionals employed by Digex who protect, defend and evaluate customer servers, sites and resources against attacks around the clock.
The new Digex TruDefense service is based on Entercept Security Technologies’ products. Of the security products evaluated by Digex, Entercept has the only real-time host-based security offerings that provide proactive intrusion prevention for the operating system and applications and are suited for large-scale implementation in Digex’s managed hosting environment.
Digex also offers value-added enterprise and professional services, including performance and security testing, monitoring, reporting and networking services. The company is located on the Web at http://www.digex.com.
