Empirix Buys Holistix

Sep 17, 2001

Bolstering its suite of Web, voice and network testing applications, Empirix, of Waltham, Mass., has bought Holistix, of
Seattle, systems integrator.

Holistix is a subsidiary of WRQ, a Seattle systems integrator. Both firms are privately held and terms were not disclosed.

Under terms of the deal, Empirix has obtained exclusive rights to all Holistix products and will support all existing Holistix customers. In addition, a core team from
Holistix has joined Empirix.

Holistix help operations managers to detect, respond to and prevent the complex problems that can affect the quality of experience for users of e-business Web
applications. They give a “holistic” view of application performance, correlating end-user experience from inside and outside the firewall with the performance of the
infrastructure.

“With our acquisition of Holistix’s highly regarded monitoring solutions, Empirix is in an ideal position to fully meet our users’ current and future needs for integrated
Web and voice testing and performance management products and services,” said said Jeff Hotchkiss, president and CEO of Empirix.
