Ezenia , a Burlington, Mass., maker of videoconferencing systems, has completed its $21
million acquisition of Colorado-based InfoWorkSpace.
InfoWorkSpace, a subsidiary of General Dynamics , sets up online workspaces where project members can collaborate with text, graphics,
instant messaging and screen sharing. Its products are used by thousands of federal employees, including in the Defense Department.
The purchase will add graphic and text capability to Ezenia’s video and voice project collaboration tools. Ezenia will offer its combined products to corporate
customers, as well as to the federal market through a reselling relationship with General Dynamics.
“The market is primed for a complete real-time collaboration solution, and we are very excited to deliver such a full product offering . . . We also anticipate
tremendous opportunities being generated by leveraging our complementary product offerings, client relationships and distribution channels,” said Khoa Nguyen,
Ezenia chairman and CEO.
Ezenia said InfoWorkSpace’s 40 employees would remain in Colorado. The Massachusetts company employs 190 workers, who will remain unaffected.
In midday trading, shares of EZEN were up .125, or 10 percent, to 1.375. In the last 52 weeks, the issue has traded between 11.938 and 1.125.
