Intacct Gets Personal With Accounting Service

Aiming to help CPAs and accounting departments customize their offerings, Intacct Corp., an ASP that offers professional accounting services, today announced the release of three new management consoles.

According to Los Gatos, Calif.-based Intacct, the E-Practice Console is designed for public accounting firms. The Multi-Entity Console is designed for companies that want to control the operations of multiple subsidiaries, stores, divisions, franchises or other entities. The Accounting Console is aimed at accounting departments within small to midsize businesses.

The consoles, which Intacct describes as “the hub” of its accounting system, are designed to allowed certified public accountants (CPAs) or an accounting department to manage their online accounting practice or operation through a single Web-based interface.

Features of the Intacct Consoles are designed to give accounting professionals the capability to adapt Intacct terminology to match their customers’ business, while also providing more convenient access to their clients’ or divisions’ data from a central command center.

“With the new console customization features announced today Intacct is setting a higher standard for how accounting services are delivered,” said Intacct CEO David Thomas in a statement. “Our new console lets accounting professionals work more efficiently, while also increasing the level of personalized service they can offer.”

The Intacct Terminology Renaming feature, for example, is designed to allow users to customize applications for different business types. Customized terminology also can be incorporated into a template for specific vertical markets. Intacct templates can include charts of account, reports, user permissions and best practices, Intacct reports.

Other new console features include shortcuts to Intacct accounting applications and reports, online training and overview resources, a company message board, and both contextual Help and Live Help. The company reports that through its E-Practice Console, accountants can access the Intacct online Assurance application for audit, review, and compilation engagements. The E-Practice Console also allows accountants to export clients’ financial data directly into business tax-preparation programs.

Intacct is listed by ASPnews as a Top 20 Service Provider.
