Inteq Gets Handle on Wireless Services

As the use of wireless applications becomes widespread, users’ expectations are increasing as well. In order to provide monitoring and management capabilities to wireless service and network providers, Inteq Corp., an infrastructure and application management services provider, earlier this week announced a line of Public Wireless LAN services designed to ensure 24×7 availability of wireless applications.

Bedford, Mass.-based Inteq says that the services will allow companies to manage the performance and availability of wireless “hot spots,” which is designed to enable wireless service and network providers to offer higher levels of service to end users.

“As consumers and companies increasingly leverage wireless networks for their day-to-day activities, uptime and connectivity is of the utmost importance,” said Santhana Krishnan, CEO of Inteq. “Inteq’s wireless hot spot management services equip companies with solutions that protect them from the costs and consequences of downtime, enabling them to benefit from continuous operations and higher levels of availability, which ultimately results in more satisfying user experiences.”

Inteq said its services will allow companies to manage wireless usage in airport lobbies, coffee shops and other hot spots where users are able to make wireless connections via notebook PC, PDA or any other wireless device. Inteq reports that its services enable companies to track levels of usage, manage bandwidth capacity and ensure the wireless hot spot is continuously up and running.

Inteq’s wireless services include the following features, according to the company:

  • Enterprise Help Desk Services 24×7 help desk support from Inteq which leverages InfraDesk, a Web-enabled enterprise service desk solution that is available from any location and equips service desk personnel and end-users with a browser-based interface for incident, problem and change request management.

  • Public Wireless Hot Spot LAN Monitoring Inteq monitors and manages application, database, network and system infrastructure by providing problem identification, diagnostics and resolution for maximum application and infrastructure availability.

  • Reporting Inteq said it provides a secure, Web-based reporting portal that provides views into the availability and performance of the business application infrastructure as well as detailed application and device-specific breakdowns.
