Looking to tap the market of small to medium-size businesses (SMB) that need to develop a Web presence, but lack the time and expertise to do it themselves, ASP Interliant today announced that it will use the Trellix Web Express environment to offer private-label Web site publishing tools its customers.
The delivery is a two-tier system. Trellix provides its Web Express technology to the Purchase, N.Y.-based Interliant, who hosts it and offers the tools to its customers as part of the INIT Web Hosting service. Interliant customers then add their branding to Web site building tools and offer them as a value-added service to SMB customers.
“By integrating Trellix Web Express into our Web Hosting solution, we provide our branded solutions partners with a much-in-demand tool to sell to their existing SMB customer bases,” said Mike Hoffman, vice president of Interliant’s INIT Web Hosting Solution. “As small- to medium-sized businesses look to increase their Internet presence, their demand for tools to facilitate the creation of sophisticated Web sites is also growing.”
Interliant’s branded solutions partners can integrate the Trellix-based service into their existing offerings or request Interliant to customize Trellix Web Express. Key features of the system include in-context, editing, automatic page linking, multiple site building capabilities and integrated support. The Trellix software also includes Web Gems, which let site builders add interactivity and specialized Web services, such as e-commerce, site promotion, and tailored forms and maps.
Interliant represents the 28th partnership announcement by Trellix in the last 12 months. Don Bulens, CEO of Trellix, told ASPnews that the deal is particularly exciting for his company because “it will extent Web Express services to Interliant’s enterprise clients, which include IBM, Dell and Cisco. The Web site services market will continue to be driven by distribution partners like Interliant that put solutions into the hands of enterprise customers with access to millions of small businesses worldwide.”
According to Interliant, the Web Express service is available to INIT Branded Solutions partners for a one-time set up fee plus a monthly license fee, both of which depend on the type and level of service provided.
