McAfee ASaP and SecureWorks Partner on Next Gen Anti-Virus Service

McAfee, a division of Network AssociatesWednesday says its is working with Atlanta-based SecureWorks on the next generation of anti-virus services.

The collaboration will incorporate SecureWorks’ next generation network security services including real-time intervention, data fingerprint correlation, and dynamic inoculation technology.

McAfee, in turn will supply its AsaP. The online delivery model helps protect McAfee customers from the latest attacks with its applications and is one of the world’s largest business-to-business ASPs, currently utilized by over 5,800 customers, across 750,000 desktops.

“We chose to partner with McAfee ASaP because anti-virus is a vital piece to a total network security package,” says SecureWorks president and CEO Robert Minkhorst. “This partnership with McAfee ASaP allows us to offer best of breed anti-virus in an Internet-based model that works in tandem with our managed intrusion prevention services.”

The Santa Clara, Calif.-based company’s Operations Center is backed by McAfee AVERT (Anti-Virus Emergency Response Team).

Right now, SecureWorks is offering McAfee ASaP’s Internet managed anti-virus service for desktops.

The two companies expect to use each other’s technologies to provide an online solution to benefit their respective customers.
