IT research and consulting firm META Groupsaid president Mike Levine has
resigned “for personal reasons and to pursue other opportunities” after only eight months.
Dale Kutnick, META Group CEO and co-research director, will assume Levine’s responsibilities at the Stamford, Conn.-based firm until a successor is
named.
“These types of changes are always difficult, but we wish Mike the best in his future endeavors,” Kutnick said. “Our number-one goal is to continue moving this
company toward profitability in 2002.”
Levine joined META in September with 20 years experience in general management, sales and marketing, operations and finance. Prior to Meta, he was vice
president of field operations for SAP America, where he worked closely with IBM, SAP’s largest technology partner.
His resume includes executive posts at ADP Credit, and Haris/3M. His immediate career plans were not announced.
Like others in its sector, META has had to adjust to a slowdown in demand for its services. In February it cut 43 jobs, about 7 percent, of its workforce. The move
will save the company $4.2 million this year in overhead.
Shares of META were off 0.01 to 2.23 at midday. In the last 52 weeks, the issue has ranged from 0.77 to 2.23.
