NSWC Crane Sails With Corio

Jan 15, 2003

Enterprise ASP Corio Inc. yesterday announced that it has signed a subcontractor agreement with Parker Management Consultants, Ltd. (PMC) to supply applications management and infrastructure for the development of future systems at the Crane Division of the U.S. Navy’s Naval Surface Warfare Center.

Corio reports that its mission under the agreement is to rapidly set up specific application environments and infrastructure designed to allow Crane to meet critical timelines associated with systems development under its Applications On Demand solution provides secure and rapid deployment of infrastructure and applications management for a fixed monthly fee.

“Parker Management Consultants views the Department of the Navy as a strategic account,” said Mark Sweeney, vice president of Parker Management Consultants. Sweeney said it selected Corio “because they could provide immediately available environments, which allows PMC consultants to begin implementation immediately and to shorten the time to benefit for NSWC Crane.”

The NSWC Crane division of the U.S. Navy is an important addition to Corio’s growing list of Federal Government customers, according to Corio. In November, Corio was awarded a GSA Schedule enabling it to pursue prime contractor positions in future U.S. Government bids (see Corio Positioned for Government Work. Corio reports that its other Federal clients include the U.S. Department of Treasury and the U.S. Coast Guard.

“Corio’s enterprise ASP value proposition is a strong fit for Federal organizations,” said Keith Angell, senior vice president of sales at Corio. “We speed application delivery for large organizations and reduce complexity.” Corio says it services also are a good match for the economic initiatives highlighted in Presidential Circular A-76, which establishes Federal policy regarding reliance on commercially available sources as an alternative to in-house use of government facilities and personnel.

The Crane Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC Crane) provides low-cost, quality and responsive acquisition, engineering, logistics and maintenance for the Fleet’s weapon and electronic systems, ordnance and associated equipment and components.

San Carlos, Calif.-based Corio is listed by ASPnews as Top 20 Service Provider.
