Software giant, Oracle Corp. yesterday announced the selection of Karta Technologies
Inc., a San Antonio-based provider of information technology and engineering service, as the first Learning Service Provider (LSP) for the Oracle iLearning Learning Management
System (LMS).
The announcement helps to reinforce Karta’s position in the content development market
as a provider of e-learning solutions for Global 2000 companies.
Dr. G.P. Singh, Karta’s CEO says that Oracle is a natural partner for the firm: “iLearning is a robust, standards compliant LMS; and by following an ASP model, Oracle has enabled us to implement iLearning quicker and easier than other learning management systems,” he says.
Since its release in December 2000, iLearning is used to power the Oracle Learning
Network and serves over 600,000 users. The deal with Karta will bring iLearning into
corporations and various federal agencies as a result of Karta’s exsiting alliances in the
construction, financial services, medical and defense sectors.
Oracle also plans to use Karta as its custom content development partner so customers can access Karta’s Training Solutions group, which has developed over 4000 computer and
Web-based training lessons.

logistics support and strategic consulting services for both commercial and military
clients.
