Application service provider Outtask, Inc., is acquiring New Jersey-based recruiting solutions provider OpenHire, Inc., strengthening the Alexandria, Va.-based Outtask’s human resources solutions for both Fortune 1000 and mid-sized businesses. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Outtask owns and provides a broad range of customers with Peopletask, a human resource application that allows customers to manage information such as benefits and performance evaluations. It includes an employee self-service feature that allows employees to manage their personal information. Peopletask is integrated with OpenHire, which in turn is fully integrated with the ADP Payroll Services.
The integration yields a human resources solution that automatically shares information collected during the hiring process.
OpenHire has been serving the recruiting market since 1996, providing recruiters with online tools to analyze their recruiting process. OpenHire also brings more than 70 new Fortune 2000 companies to the Outtask client base, which now tops 200 large-to-medium size companies.

By providing a monthly charge for the scalable name-brand applications, services, and support, Outtask offers companies a competitive advantages that were previously exclusive to the Fortune 500. As a result, more than 50 percent of Outtask’s customers have purchased additional applications or services within 100 days of initial service.

Outtask was founded in August 1999 and currently employs over 100 people. It has regional offices serving Austin, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, New York, Portland/Seattle, San Diego, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C.
