Professional services ASP Portera on Tuesday (July 10) announced that it has become a Microsoft Great Plains solution developer partner, and has teamed with Great Plains ASP ManagedOps to deliver an integrated Portera/Microsoft Great Plains solution.

“This is a clear example of what can happen when you listen to customers,” said Dan Taylor, CEO of ManagedOps. “This relationship is all about providing customers with comprehensive, industry-tailored solutions that offer very rapid return on investment.”

The agreement signifies that Portera’s solution integrates with Microsoft Great Plains’ solutions and certifies Portera’s ServicePort suite of professional services automation (PSA) applications as a solution available through Microsoft Great Plains’ Authorized Service Provider (ASP) program.

“Our customers are looking to access all of the applications they need to run their business reliably and cost-effectively over the Internet,” said Gary Steele, Portera’s CEO. “By working with industry leaders like Microsoft Great Plains and ManagedOps, Portera is able to deliver exactly that.”

ManagedOps is a Microsoft Gold Certified ASP partner with more than 10 years of Microsoft Great Plains integration experience. Together, the companies offer professional services organizations an integrated front- and back- office solution consisting of Portera’s subscription-based PSA suite and hosted Microsoft Great Plains eEnterprise and Dynamics applications.

“We are excited to work with companies like Portera that develop industry-tailored applications exclusively for delivery over the Web,” said Jim Traynor, director of ASP business development at Microsoft Great Plains. “The ServicePort suite is well suited to the needs of professional services organizations, and with integration to hosted Microsoft Great Plains applications, it provides a comprehensive solution for managing a professional service business.”

Portera, based in Campbell, Calif., is a vertical service provider (VSP) targeting consulting firms, government contractors and other professional services organizations. Portera’s subscription-based ServicePort suite of professional services automation (PSA) applications delivers the software functionality needed to manage finances, resources, projects and relationships.
