Promptu Launches eMarketing 2.0

Jun 23, 2000

Marketing and sales delivery solutions provider Promptu this week introduced Promptu eMarketing 2.0, its latest solution to address the challenges marketers face when working with sales teams and channel partners.

Promptu added capabilities with its 2.0 version including a set of publishing wizards in its field execution, a survey management module, a set of e-commerce APIs and two new ways of delivering information-over Palm devices and a CD Rom capability.

According to Jon Klein, vice president, marketing, Promptu has a total of 10 customers, doubling its base from six months ago.

“Our goal is to reach between 30-40 customer by the end of this year and to double that by 2001,” he said.

Founded in March 1999, Promptu is an ASP that hosts and manages its own software. Its fundamental user of the application is a portal.

Klein described Promptu as an ASP looking for delivery and complete outsourcing solutions for its customers.

Promptu closed $16.5 million in its second round of funding in May, bringing the total invested in the company to $21.5 million.

At the time, chief executive officer Alan Chase said the money would be used to help the company capitalize on its momentum and increase its operations.
