Internet Service provider PSINet Inc.
and network security provider WatchGuard Technologies Inc.
Tuesday unveiled PSINet SecurityCentral, a range of network security
services geared to small and mid-size businesses.

SecurityCentral gives system administrators the ability to oversee the
installation, maintenance and downloading of security upgrades managed by
specialists from a central location.

PSINet said it is the first major ISP to use a complete managed
firewall service using WatchGuard’s product. PSINet SecurityCentral is
now available to U.S. and Canadian customers and will be released to PSINet’s
global cleints sometime in the near future.

“With Firebox II and PSINet
SecurityCentral, we can offer the most up-to-date security services at
a fraction of industry-standard cost,” said Richard Neugass, PSINet’s
product manager for security services. “This is the perfect solution
for our customers who must protect their Internet connections without
dedicating their limited human resources to the task.”
