Inter-enterprise solutions provider SAP this week announced it enhanced the features of mySap.com.
The new offering will focus on B2B payment processing functions and support for mobile users connecting with WAP-enabled devices.
SAP (SAP)also plans to offer payment and data delivery services by integrating Visa International’s corporate purchasing system into mySAP.com, allowing companies to streamline procurement processes by connecting corporate buyers, suppliers and Visa member banks.
SAP has also teamed with Nokia in a global technology cooperation to provide easy “data on the fly” deployment of handheld WAP-enabled devices with the mySAP.com Mobile Workplace. It will offer an automated end-to-end purchasing function with flexible reporting, Web-enabled reconciliation and approval.
Incorporating the WAP technology will extend the reach of mySAP.com solutions to mobile device users, allowing them to access and update enterprise information online from a WAP-enabled mobile device, according to the company. This in turn will advance the mySAP.com Mobile Workplace.
SAP realizes the importance of cooperating with Nokia and the affect it will have on its customer base. “We are providing mySAP.com customers with even more choices and flexibility in how they access critical inter-enterprise data and applications,” Peter Zencke, executive board member, SAP, said.
WAP technology also expands the possibilities for customers and partners of SAP in developing MiniApps for the mySAP.com Mobile Workplace.
SAP and Nokia will provide initial solutions to their mutual enterprise customers via mySAP.com. Users of WAP-compatible phones will have full access to information from mySAP.com solutions and other sources such as news feeds, stock quotes and e-commerce business directories.
