Office products giant Staples Wednesday reached a deal with Prodigy Internet to offer its customers discounted prepaid access plans.
Staples customers will be able to purchase Prodigy service for $14.95 a
month when they pay for three months’ service in advance. The bundled
browser will also include a link to Staples’ site, which features a variety
of office supplies that can be purchased online.
Staples spokesman Jonathan Megasanik said the deal is recognition of the
fact that the Internet has become an important business tool.
“The agreement also extends our corporate mission to the online
environment: To provide consumers and small businesses (at low prices) that
have previously been available only to large corporations,” he said.
