StorageNetworks Scores EDS Deal

StorageNetworks said EDS will use its software to run an internal data storage system. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Waltham, Mass.-based StorageNetworks will provide primary and backup systems to Plano, Texas-based EDS as it enhances its data storage framework for
managing its vast client requirements.

“EDS is one of the world’s leading global technology services providers, and their decision to work with StorageNetworks is a clear demonstration of confidence in
our multi-vendor storage management software,” said Peter Bell, StorageNetworks chairman and CEO.

Shares of STOR rose 0.49 or 12 percent to 4.57 at midday on the EDS deal as well as earnings report that exceeded analyst expecations.
