Nationwide Internet service provider Surfree.com Monday introduced an
affiliate program for members of their online community that pays for
referrals and advertising.

Members of the Surfree.com online community earn surfbucks, redeemable for
cash and free Internet access. An affiliate member earns surfbucks for
building a free web site, generating traffic on that Web site, and
referring new access subscribers to Surfree.com.

“Creating a community that rewards consumers for advertising our $14.95 per
month nationwide unlimited Internet access takes us beyond the typical free
Web space model,” said Adam Portnoy’s Surfree.com founder and chief executive officer.

Surfbucks are valued at 1,000 surfbucks to the dollar. Members earn 5,000
surfbucks for putting their Web site on Surfree.com. Five thousand
surfbucks can be redeemed for $5 or ten days of Internet access. Twenty
thousand surfbucks can be earned by referring a new subscriber to
Surfree.com’s Internet access.

Additionally, Surfree.com pays one surfbuck per visitor to their
Surfree.com home page. Members track their surfbucks in the new Members
Area and decide when to turn them in for rewards.

According to Portnoy, the ISP is “giving people real incentives to build or
move their Web sites to Surfree.com.”
