TeleComputing Updates TECOS Platform

Dec 19, 2001

Private-label ASP infrastructure provider TeleComputing today announced the release of TECOS 3.0, its application provisioning and management platform that now supports the deployment and management of both Web-based and Windows-based applications.

The latest release of TECOS enables service providers and ISVs to easily deliver applications, Web services and other value-added services to their customers. With TECOS 3.0, service providers can quickly deploy hosted, value-added applications on top of their core network services, including Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server, Microsoft Office 2000, Microsoft Mobile Information Server, or any Microsoft .NET application or Web service.

TeleComputing TECOS 3.0 also enables service providers to easily move beyond hosted Exchange to add new services and applications to their offering. A new service can be added by plugging in a Service Configuration Object (SCO) that automates the provisioning and management of that service.

TECOS 3.0 is available as part of TeleComputing’s private label hosted business messaging and collaboration solution for service providers, who, in turn, offer these hosted services to their clients.

“Our TECOS 3.0 platform helps service providers stay ahead of the market, by enabling them to easily deploy new applications and services that deliver value to their customers while adding profit to their bottom line,” said Alex Hawkinson, general manager and senior vice president for TeleComputing, a Microsoft Gold Certified partner for Hosting and Application Services.

TECOS 3.0 makes it possible for service providers’ customers to self-provision and manage their own service through an intuitive .NET-based Web portal, putting greater administrative control in the hands of customers and decreasing support costs for the service provider.

In addition, TECOS 3.0 enables all service provisioning and management requests to be submitted as XML documents and routed through the Microsoft BizTalk Server, making it easy for service providers to transform and route data between TECOS 3.0 and their Customer Care, Billing System or other Operations Support System (OSS) and Business Support Systems (BSS) components. BizTalk Server’s workflow features also enable the TECOS 3.0 platform to support custom business-rules and workflow processes.

TeleComputing (Oslo Stock Exchange:TCO), founded in 1997, is the largest ASP in the Nordic region with its ASP services business unit. The company’s global service provider business — based in the U.S. — provides private label and technology solutions in the U.S. and Europe for companies that wish to provide branded application services to their own customer base.
