Verio Rolls Out Next Phase of Hosting

Oct 31, 2002

Verio, an Englewood, Colo.-based Web hosting provider, yesterday announced the NTT/Verio PowerPlatform Hosting framework, which the company describes as the next phase of its enterprise hosting strategy.

PowerPlatform is designed to extend Verio’s range of managed hosting products for midsize and large enterprises and gives customers the capability to build out their infrastructure based on modular services, tiered support and enhanced services.

According to Verio, the framework consists of four parts — PowerPlatform Hosting, PowerPlatform Managed Services, PowerPlatform Support and a new PowerPortal. The PowerPlatform Hosting options unveiled today fall into three areas, according to Verio:

  • RapidRollout Solutions for the entry-level market
  • Modular Solutions for the mid-to-high end market
  • Colocation Solutions for data center hosting space and Internet access.

The NTT/Verio PowerPlatform Managed Services can be deployed over some or all of the hosting platforms, according to the company. Services include advanced network services, managed security and storage solutions, monitoring and reporting, managed application services and professional services.

The PowerPlatform Support services include a new multi-tiered structure designed to ensure varying levels of support designed to meet the needs of any hosting customers, according to Verio. The three levels include the following:

  • Essential Support, a base level of support offered to all customers.
  • Enhanced Support, designed with a more personalized support aspect that includes dedicated and specialized account managers
  • Enterprise Support, designed for the most sophisticated hosting needs that require individualized attention and support.

The NTT/Verio PowerPortal is designed to be interactive service portal that improves efficiency by providing customers with an access point to their solution and delivering a working view into the operations of the NTT/Verio infrastructure.
