Public relations and government relations ASP Vocus Inc. on Tuesday introduced Vocus Public Relations Professional Edition, a midrange version of its Vocus Enterprise Edition online PR management software.
“Professional Edition fills a glaring void in the PR software space: the absence of a midrange solution,” said Rick Rudman, president and CEO of Vocus. “It bridges the gap between low-end list managers like MediaMap Performa and Bacon’s MediaSource, and Vocus Enterprise Edition, the high-end system with advanced features required by large PR operations with more complex needs.”
According to Rudman, users who eventually outgrow Professional Edition will be offered a hassle-free way to upgrade to the Enterprise Edition. “Professional Edition is a simplified, affordable version of our more advanced product. It meets the current needs of smaller organizations and provides a seamless upgrade path to those users whose needs become more complex as their organizations grow.”
Vocus Public Relations Professional Edition software provides a comprehensive database that comprises all of the contact information, profiles and editorial calendars in the industry-leading Bacon’s, Bulldog Reporter and PRNewswire media and analyst databases.
It keeps track of notes and activities; creates targeted media lists; distributes press releases by mail, fax, mail-merge email and wire services; and manages news gathered electronically from almost any source the client subscribes to, including Factiva, Burrelle’s, Bacon’s, VMS and eWatch. Optional features include Online Newsroom, Analytics for PR and Marketing and Interactive Email.
Vocus has nearly 1,500 organizations using its Enterprise Edition, including Gap Inc., Pulte Corp., ABB, Gibson Guitar, and Edelman Public Relations.
