Washington Mutual‘s Monday says it is teaming up with Sunnyvale, Calif.-based content infrastructure firm Interwoven
to help it manage some of its affairs.
The Seattle-based bank and mortgage lender says Interwoven will be responsible for three internal and external Washington Mutual Websites.
The idea is to use Interwoven’s Content Infrastructure product suite to let WaMu employees add content to the Web, regardless of the employee’s technical skill or organizational role.
“By giving business users ownership of content, Washington Mutual can continue to deliver timely and relevant financial information to employees and customers with peak effectiveness,” says Washington Mutual’s Home Loans & Insurance Services Group eCommerce and marketing executive vice president Genevieve Smith.
The agreement is a part of Interwoven’s recent initiative to get more businesses inline with its products
Interwoven’s TeamSite Front-Office 5.0 (for example) lets business users and Web designers submit content directly from Microsoft Office 2000 applications, Windows Explorer, Macromedia DreamWeaver and Adobe GoLive.
Now, say Interwoven execs, Washington Mutual contributors can now easily collaborate and update any part of the Web site. By empowering contributors to become content owners, business owners can quickly publish financial information thus creating an accurate and up-to-date Website.
