Xdrive Wins Microsoft Contract

Internet storage infrastructure provider Xdrive Technologies, Inc. today announced it has been tapped by Microsoft Corp. to provide third-party storage for Windows XP Beta 2 web services.

Formerly code-named “Whistler,” Windows XP is the new Microsoft Windows operating system for the home and workplace.

Xdrive’s storage service will be included as a function of the new Web Publishing Wizard, enabling the ability to upload, download, access, and share files from anywhere using a wireline or wireless Internet-ready devices such as personal computers, personal digital assistant, WAP-enabled phones, and public Internet terminals.

Xdrive is a privately held company headquartered in Santa Monica, Calif.
