On Friday, according to several reports, members of India’s Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) will be deployed to the Bangalore campus of outsourcing specialist Infosys.
Infosys is one of six companies that received a bomb threat in January, according to Silicon India. Infosys rival Wipro was also threatened at the time.
Why now? The news comes a few weeks after the bombing of luxury hotels in Jakarta and as calm is apparently returning to the area.
But today consultant firm Frost & Sullivan unveiled a security assessment and training service for hotels and their managers. “In the last twelve months, the number of deadly attacks on luxury hotels has accelerated significantly, and the bombings of the Ritz-Carlton and Marriott hotels in Jakarta a couple of weeks ago highlight yet again how urgent this need has become,” Frost & Sullivan said.
“The primary goal of this program is to produce objective, quantifiable and independent data on the security level at any particular hotel, factoring in a wide range of key variables. The specific details of a security risk assessment always remain confidential on completion to each individual hotel,” said Dorman Followwill, Frost & Sullivan partner, in a statement.
