Internet software company Beyond.com this week released Enterprise Download Manager version 3.0, designed to allow customers to increase efficiency of company software purchases and intranet management.

New features include a browser-based desktop manager with intranet capabilities, improved digital signature security, increased upstream reporting, remote administration giving system administrators a single point of administration control, built-in license management and built-in access management.

The company said the purpose of the upgrade was to further decrease total cost of ownership through more efficient software deployment, license management and tracking.

“To decrease total cost of software ownership, large enterprises in the government demand
electronic software deployment, license management and tracking,” said Kendall Fargo,
vice-president of enterprise and government sales at Beyond.com.
“Beyond.com’s Enterprise Download Manager Version 3.0 reduces the cost of software ownership through
increased efficiency.”

Customers include agencies such as the Defense
Logistics Agency, the Internal Revenue Service, the National Imaging and Mapping Agency and
the Patent and Trademark Office.
